I had just moved to Nova Scotia from Toronto, and started a new business. About two weeks after registering on CWBN, I got an email from a woman I went to public school with in Ontario. Not only did she live a few scant blocks away from me in Halifax, she became a client. I was able to direct her to another cllient of mine, and she designed a very successful website for him. (so, it's her success story too!) CWBN has also benefitted me in other ways. When I finally managed to create my own website, I submitted it to update my registry, and received a completely unsolicited -- very helpful -- email with tips regarding my site's coding. That kind of personal touch is so rare and welcome these days, and will always be a benchmark for me. THAT is how women should be using their skills in business now -- it isn't all about money; it's about support and community.
