HOME OFFICE - Starting with the 1999 return, you can write off expenses for your home office if you're self-employed, it's your only office and you use the space "exclusively and regularly" (that's IRS lingo) for "substantial administrative or management" tasks related to your work.

TaxAct '99 Standard Edition FREE

TaxAct is designed to take the headache out of tax time. It gathers the information needed to complete your return and interviews you, asking questions that pertain to your situation. Then it automatically calculates your return, placing your information on the appropriate tax form. The Alerts feature reviews your entire return for errors and missing information. Once the calculations are done, you choose how you wish to file by printing IRS-approved forms and schedules, or filing electronically. For a quicker refund (usually within two to three weeks), you can electronically file for $7.95 per return. Details are available within the program. TaxAct '99 Standard has been updated to reflect the new 1999 tax law changes. This final version will print your entire return on your own plain paper.
